From a single wooden boat in 1947 to one of Iceland's leading seafood companies today.
Magnús Sigurðsson purchases his first fishing vessel, a 22-metre wooden boat named Brimrún, in the harbour of Ísafjörður.
Brimherji opens its first onshore processing facility in Ísafjörður, employing 45 local workers. The plant specialises in salt cod production.
Second-generation leader Björn Magnússon expands the fleet to four vessels and begins exporting fresh fish to mainland Europe.
Major investment in automated processing equipment and cold-chain logistics. Brimherji achieves EU export certification.
