Stern Trawler / Freezer Trawler
Our flagship vessel, commissioned in 2019. Brimfaxi is equipped with onboard processing and freezing facilities, allowing it to operate for extended periods in remote fishing grounds. Named after the mythological horse whose mane brings the daylight.
Hrímfaxi RE-55
Stern Trawler / Fresh Fish
Named after the mythological horse whose bit produces the morning dew, Hrímfaxi specialises in fresh fish trawling around Iceland's continental shelf. Equipped with an RSW (Refrigerated Sea Water) system for optimal freshness.
Ægir RE-33
Stern Trawler / Fresh Fish
Named after the Norse god of the sea, Ægir is our workhorse fresh fish trawler. Primarily targeting cod and haddock on the Icelandic continental shelf, she delivers the freshest catch to our processing plant in Ísafjörður.

Longline Vessel / Autoliner
A modern autoliner named after the dwarf of the West in Norse mythology. Vestri targets premium cod and Greenland halibut on the Icelandic shelf edge using automated longlining systems.
Norðri ÍS-88
Longline Vessel / Autoliner
Named after the dwarf of the North, Norðri operates in the northernmost Icelandic fishing grounds near Jan Mayen and the Greenland shelf. Specialises in Greenland halibut and deep-water cod.

Rán AK-17
Pelagic / Purse Seiner
Named after the Norse sea goddess, Rán is our pelagic vessel targeting herring, capelin, and mackerel. Equipped with a massive RSW tank system and the latest sonar technology for locating pelagic schools.

Sólfaxi ÍS-300 — UPCOMING
Hybrid-Electric Longline Vessel
Iceland's first hybrid-electric fishing vessel, currently under construction. Sólfaxi will combine a diesel-electric propulsion system with battery storage, reducing emissions by up to 40%. Named after the mythological horse that carries the sun.
This vessel represents Brimherji's commitment to our 2030 carbon neutrality goal and will serve as a blueprint for the next generation of sustainable fishing vessels.
